Banning State Park

A few weekends ago my husband and I decided to take a little day trip and go south of Duluth to hike Banning State Park. The weather was partly cloudy and 60! It was an absolute gorgeous day. With the snow melting, the river was high and roaring making its way through the surrounding forest.

The trails were partially covered with snow and ice and also muddy in a few areas. Every once in a while you would see the dead plants start to turn a dull green with promise that new life will be coming this spring.

Wolf Creek Falls

Further down the trail there is a water fall that is one to behold. Wolf Creek Falls is definitely a hike into the unknown but it is worth it!

Banning State Park was a really cool hike and I would recommend this trip to anyone. The trails for the most part are flat right up until you reach the falls area then it gets a little harder because of rocks.

Here’s more pictures I took while on our hike!
